News & Events Options Applegate House retains their CQC ‘Outstanding’ Rating
An autism specific transitional care service for young adults in Barton Upon Humber is celebrating after it has retained its Outstanding rating by the CQC, following an inspection in June 2017.
Options Autism Applegate, which is run by Options Autism autism and is part of Outcomes First Group, is a specialist residential care provider.
Inspectors rated the service ‘Outstanding’ specifically in the areas of being caring, well-led and effective, building upon the number of categories being rated Outstanding compared to the last report, which took place in December 2014.
Specialising in a person centred approach and supporting people with developing social, domestic and life skills, the service is proud to retain its overall Outstanding rating.
Options Applegate House is very much focused on building the service around the people they support and encourages each individual within their care to try new things and make positive changes in their lives. The staff and management team continue to work hard to give the individuals the greatest opportunity to be independent and lead as fulfilling lives as possible.
Luke Stocks, Manager at Options Applegate House commented: “We are so proud of everyone here at Options Applegate House and the hard work and dedication to not only the team here but every single individual.”
“Our approach is so important to the progression of the people we support and they are at the forefront of everything we do.”
Approximately, only 1.5% of all adult social care registered services achieve the ‘Outstanding’ rating within the UK. Options Applegate House is one of five Options Autism services in the North that has been rated Outstanding. The four other services rated outstanding include Options Roxby House, Options Watermill House, Options Watermill Lodge and Options Thorpe House, the latter of which was the latest service to receive its Outstanding rating.
Russell Leese, Regional Head of Adult Services North, and a member of the Outstanding Society supported by Care England, comments: “It is fantastic news that Options Applegate House has retained its Outstanding rating and we look forward to seeing the six people that we support develop and become more independent individuals.”
The CQC Report stated: “The leadership, management and governance of the service were outstanding and assured the delivery of high-quality, person centred care which supported learning and innovation.”
