Options Autism Roxby, Thorpe, Watermill and Applegate achieve Autism Accreditation Enhanced Practice Commendation from the National Autistic Society

Huge congratulations to Options Roxby House, Options Thorpe House, Options Watermill House, Options Applegate House and Options Watermill Lodge on achieving an Autism Accreditation Enhanced Practice Commendation from the National Autistic Society!

The panel considered the work undertaken by all the services to Community Engagement as commendable. The following examples that met this criteria included:

• ‘Innovation; an extensive range of community projects and events developed, there is a strong ethos throughout the services to engage with the community’
• Sustainability; Evidence of collaboration over a long period in accessing the community
• Impact; Positive outcomes are evident through the hard work ensuring that not only do people with autism have a strong community presence, they are also actively participating in looking after and improving their community facilities.’

Their efforts have been recognised by not only gaining the NAS Accreditation but they have also achieved an Autism Accreditation Enhanced Practice Commendation.

Enhanced practice commendations are only awarded to the few services where it is felt that the provision is going above and beyond usual expectations in supporting people with autism and exceeding the Autism Accreditation criteria in a particular area.
