“He began to change, began to learn and develop, began to understand his world and, most importantly, became the happy person he is today”
“Our precious son, C, leaves Barton School at the end of this week and begins a new chapter of his life with an adult placement at Options Roxby. We wanted to take this opportunity to try and express our immense gratitude to each and every member of staff at Options Barton who has touched CF, and our, lives over the last seven years.
We find it extremely difficult to find words that adequately convey the tremendous impact you have all had on our lives. What seems like such a short time ago you embarked on a journey with a frightened, unhappy little boy lost in a confusing world with a family in crisis, facing a bleak future and unsure of the decision to trust somebody else with their son’s welfare.
It took time, there were setbacks due to C’s anxieties and behaviours but, within a few short months, something amazing happened. C began to change, began to learn and develop, began to understand his world and, most importantly, became the happy person he is today.
Policies and procedures, the whole ethos and approach come from dynamic, effective and thoroughly knowledgeable (actually expert) leadership. In terms of people, the dedication and caring nature of the staff, both at the school and the residence, are truly exemplary.
In short, what you have done for us has been life-changing. We can never thank you all enough. We’re hugely comforted to have secured a place for C at Roxby so he can continue to be cared for in an environment that shares the same, child-centred, core values and methodology. He could not be in better hands.”
“We really appreciate the work you do”
“We just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate the work you and your colleagues are doing with our son”
“It is really breathtaking stuff…”
“The planning, innovation and investment is just beyond belief – it is really breathtaking stuff, and I have visited 7 special ASC residential schools. I just know deep down how very lucky I was to stumble on the Options flyer.”
“Children are encouraged to participate…”
“The curriculum is taught in a variety of creative ways, honing in on and tailored to the strengths and weaknesses of each individual child. Children are encouraged to participate in a multitude of activities both on and off site.
The list of facilities on site, however, is extensive, and the school boasts a hydrotherapy pool, a cinema, a bistro, a superb light/sensory suite, landscaped grounds including a sensory garden (with both light and water features), a horticultural area, outdoor play facility, sports hall, climbing wall and gym.
In addition to this the library and IT suite have state-of-the-art equipment designed to encourage pupils to progress to doing more things for themselves – such as checking in and out their library books – whilst still keeping to the recognised national key stages appropriate to their age range.”

“Options Barton is the home that all children with Autism deserve”
“We feel very lucky that our son found a place at Options Barton.
It means such a lot to us to know that our son is happy and well cared for and we now finally have the close and loving relationship with him that we could have only have dreamt of a few years ago.
The high standards that Options Barton has set makes us wonder if we could ever find something equal.
Options Barton is the home that all children with Autism deserve and should expect and we are and will always be thankful to Options and its amazing staff.”
