Liz Roberts – Chair

Liz taught children and young people with special needs in a range of settings for almost forty years before retiring from the Headship at Ysgol Kinsale in 2017. Still passionate about teaching and learning, she is on the governing body of a nearby special school and is Independent Chair of the scrutiny board here at Kinsale. She comes into school frequently to meet pupils and staff and to work closely with the Head and the leadership team to help support continued high levels of achievement. When not in school, Liz enjoys spending time with her family and friends and working in her local church where she co-runs a Toddler group and has recently set up a weekly activity evening for adults with LD.

 

 

Mark Williams- Head of Service

Mark commenced his role as Head of Service of Kinsale in July 2013. Prior to arriving at Options, Mark had managed and operated Children’s Homes and Schools in the independent sector at a senior level for ten years. Mark started working in children’s social care after having led a successful 20 year career in the police service. He has a wide range of experience and skills in managing care and education services for looked after children with complex needs. Since starting at Kinsale, Mark has been instrumental in the continued development of the school and care provision the service offers young people.

 

 

 Victor Levenson – Clinical Psychologist

Victor Levenson is the Clinical Team Lead and Consultant Clinical Psychologist. After qualifying as a member of the Division of Clinical Psychology of the British Psychological Society, Victor worked within the NHS and progressed to a Senior Post working in Child and Adolescent Community Services.

Victor then moved to Hertfordshire where he set up one of the first community based specialist teams for people with learning disabilities and severe challenging behaviour. This team transcended health and social care boundaries and successfully supported children and adults in hospital to move into community placements, and prevented those in the community from moving to hospital.

After working for an Independent provider where he was promoted to Clinical Director and Hospital Director, running the most successful Hospital in the group, Victor moved to Options.

Victor has a wide range of Clinical skills and training in a diverse range of therapeutic approaches as well as assessment. He applies these skills to work with individuals, staff teams and in developing strong service systems which are fit for purpose – to meet the needs of the challenges the children who are at Options Kinsale may present, to improve their quality of life, and opportunities to achieve to the best of their abilities.

 

 

 Mel Ramm- Clerk

Mel joined Options in 2007 during the development stages of Options Kinsale and has been influential in the development of the service. She has over 25 years’ experience within the Administration/Training and Business Management sectors. Mel holds qualifications in ILM Management Level 5 and the CIPD Certificate in Human Resource Practice Level 3.

 

Ian Roberts- Head Teacher

Ian Roberts has been Head Teacher at Options Kinsale School since September 2017. Ian joined the service in November 2016 as Deputy Head Teacher. A former university lecturer at University of Wales, he was responsible for developing an innovative curriculum design modelled on the Successful Futures vision. He has also worked in local government roles including school improvement and safeguarding. His interests include action research and partnership development.

 

Becky Farmer- Registered Manager at Options Kinsale

Becky has worked at Options Kinsale for nine years; she has held the post of Registered Manager for 15 months and leads the Autism Practice within the service. Becky holds qualifications in Early Childhood Studies, NVQ 3 Health and Social Care, Speech and Language Therapy and Becky is currently undertaking a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.
