“

I instantly received a warm and friendly welcome…there was evidence of working with the people they support in a person-centred manner to achieve their outcomes and finding a good balance between what is important “to” and “for” the person, also devising daily plans influenced by the strengths of the individual… I was impressed seeing the many picture cards which were very individualised to each individual according to their communication needs

We have experienced a busy start to the year with opening a new service and transitioning in four service users within a week! Three of the transitions were from our school setting at Options Kinsale and was an external placement for a service user who was able to transfer from Coventry back to his home area of North Wales. All service users have settled well into the home and appear happy and relaxed.

“

S.H- has experienced using public transport to attend a football match at The Racecourse, Wrexham stadium. He enjoyed the train journey and thoroughly enjoyed the match, shouting encouragement to the players and oooing and arring! This would have been unthinkable 2 years ago where he would not have been supported to take positive risks that enhance his life.”

“

T.B experienced a family holiday for the first time in seven years, he was supported to visit his family home in Dover where he spent quality time with his father, grandparents and siblings.

He managed the long journey well, coped fantastically with the holiday accommodation and all the focus that brings for him. The family feedback was not only positive for the staff that supported it was moving to hear how being able to spend time T.B was precious to them and T.B.”

C.M-has recently celebrated his 21st birthday where he had a party at the local pub. He celebrated with family and friends and enjoyed a pint or 2! He danced to the tunes played by the disco and enjoyed jumping to the beats. His parent were pleased with the celebrations and to see him so happy.

“

I.W & J.O went on an activity holiday together where they engaged in climbing and canoeing, both enjoyed the holiday and experiences and plan to go again this year!”
