News & Events Options Barton Celebrates After Awards Shortlist
Options Barton, based in Barton upon Humber, has been short-listed as a finalist for the Education Investor Award 2016, for the effective way its in-house clinical team supports the education team in delivering shared goals.
Options Barton, which is run by Options Autism and is part of Outcomes First Group, provides a holistic service to children with autistic spectrum conditions (ASC) and associated complex needs. The bespoke, person centred service can cater for stays between one night and 52 weeks per year, and can offer day or residential education placements via the main school or a specialist unit.
The Education Investor Awards, which is attended by over 750 annually, promotes excellence and recognises innovation within the education sector.
The service, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, has adopted Options Autism’ unique clinical model. The clinical model has an in-house team of experts in each service, made up of highly skilled and experience psychologists and therapists, to look at the individual as a whole and work in a joined up approach across residential and educational settings. This shared understanding gives the teams a way of supporting the individuals in Options Autism care to ensure the best outcomes. Through this holistic approach Options Autism is able to work with each individual to devise a person-centred plan which best meets their needs.
Options Barton offers a wide range of on-site facilities, providing young people with the opportunity to develop their interests and skills. On-site facilities include an autism specific playground, an outside wet playground with water cannon, a hydrotherapy pool and a sensory room.
Staff members of Outcomes First Group will be attending the awards ceremony, which will be taking place on Wednesday 16th November at the Lancaster London Hotel.
Outcomes First Group Chief Executive Officer, Graham Baker, said everyone was thrilled by the short-listing.
“Our clinical team and staff continuously work together to ensure the highest standard of care, education and support, and it is fantastic that we have been short-listed for a national award. Our clinical model is unique, and offers dynamic, adaptable and compassionate support to word towards positive goals and reaching the desired outcomes of each individual.
“Since it was announced we have been short-listed for the award, there’s been a real buzz around the organisation, and we are very much look forward to the award ceremony. Hopefully we will be successful on the evening, but whether we win the award or not, we are all very proud to have received this recognition for the care and support we provide.”
