Hayley and Selina, Clinical Lead’s at Options Autism, to present live at the Autism Show Webinar Week in June

Between the 14th to 19th June, the Autism Show is going online for the Autism Show Webinar Week.

Offering 30 hours of online learning, there will be the opportunity to watch a range of live webinars proving insight into those on the autism spectrum, along with useful strategies and approaches, the latest autism news and the chance to ask speakers questions or advice via the web chat function.

On Thursday 17th June, 2-2.30pm, Hayley Gazeley and Selina Wightman, Clinical Wellbeing Lead’s and Speech and Language Therapist’s at Options Autism are presenting at the Autism Show. They will be leading a presentation on ‘Challenges with Eating and Drinking within the Autism Spectrum’.

Selina is based at Acorn Park School, an educational and residential site for children and adults with autism aged 6-19 years old. She has worked in the NHS as a highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist for 21 years, in the field of autism and associated diagnoses. In the last four years, she has supported adults with autism and mental health presentations. Alongside being a Dysphagia Therapist, she is also a Positive Behaviour Support Coach.  She aims to work collaboratively with the team to provide therapy support in an integrated way to meet the needs of the pupils and maximise the best outcomes.

Hayley is based at The Shires, which provides specialist education and care for young people aged 11-19 years of age. Hayley has worked with children, young people and adults with social, emotional and learning difficulties, including autism since 2009 and has a degree in Speech and Language Therapy. She has also completed her Dysphasia training, and is currently studying a masters in Psychology. She is passionate about giving individuals a voice by ensuring that they have access to their preferred method of communication and delivering therapy using a range of communication approaches.
