News & Events Monica Harding MP Opens Sensory Garden at Ashley Park School
We were delighted to welcome Monica Harding MP to Ashley Park School to officially open our brand-new Sensory Garden – a vibrant new space designed to support the wellbeing and development of our pupils.
Joined by key representatives from Outcomes First Group and local stakeholders, Monica toured the school and saw first-hand how collaboration and community can drive meaningful change.
Our pupils confidently shared their experiences with guests, showing how the garden is already making a difference in their daily lives. Visitors praised the garden’s peaceful, welcoming atmosphere and the joy and engagement of the young people using it.
This isn’t just a beautiful space – it’s a vital resource. Designed with the needs of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in mind, the garden helps build sensory awareness, encourage self-regulation, and support physical development.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this vision to life. The Sensory Garden is more than a project – it’s a step forward in creating inclusive, nurturing environments where every child can thrive.
Ashley Park School supports autistic young people aged 11–16, providing a safe and nurturing environment where every pupil can thrive. Learn more about the school at www.ashleyparkschool.co.uk.
